Strange Christian Articles On The Increase

You can't help but notice when searching for articles on Christian subjects such as end time prophecy, the results are astounding. People are seeing the events and the times and putting two and two together. It's amazing though the different takes on current events relating to the Bible. Even more so, how so many can be misled by all the theories and conjectures being presented over the internet.

End time prophecy may be number one on the list but at a close number two is articles about the charismatic movement which has swept the globe with it's supposed manifestations of miracles, prosperity, signs, tongues, healings, and wonders. It seems Christians are wanting to see more natural evidence of the end times and many times confusing these things for spiritual. And with these many signs and wonders you have greedy men who disguise themselves as shepherds who fleece the sheep of their hard earned money.

The scriptures plainly spoke of these things happening in the epistles to Timothy. The Apostle Paul wrote in his second letter to Timothy that in the last days, dangerous (perilous) times are coming. He went on to say that in this time people are going to be lovers of their own selves, have a great desire for wealth or possessions or for another's possessions (covetous). Also these folks would be braggarts, boasting about what they've done instead of what God has accomplished. Even more so they would be blasphemers, unthankful and unholy, disobedient to parents.

It gets even worse in his description when he says they are without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent (not able to control themselves), fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady (impetuous and rash), high minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. Turn away means don't have anything to do with them.

Many are telling you that they need to tell you what God really is saying in the scriptures. Facts are that if a preacher is actually a God called man of God, he will speak to you directly from the bible without adding or subtracting from it. The best defense to keep from being deceived is to trust the Word of God for what it says. It isn't really a difficult thing to understand. If you are confused about what is in there, it's not God doing it because God isn't the author of confusion. He is the author of peace. And don't ever fall for the line that God didn't really mean what he said. That's just plumb foolishness.

A Rule In Understanding Scripture

When reading the bible, there is a rule that I have followed for years. That rule is if the scripture says something plainly, take it for what it says. Sounds simplistic, now doesn't it? Well, actually it is.

The Bible says: 1st Corinthians 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. So then, if the scriptures which are authored by the Lord God seem confusing to you there are three possibilities.

1. You are trying to understand them with a carnal mind that uses carnal reasoning.
2. You haven't got a clue because you haven't got the Holy Spirit in you to be your guide.
3. You are looking for another answer other than the one the bible spells out.

We can't blame God, that's for sure. Why? Because He's not the one that authored the confusion.

Lets take a few verses from John to begin with. The Lord Jesus said: John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 10:30 I and my Father are one.

1. In verse 27, there is a clear and distinct relationship between the Savior and His sheep (the saved). They hear & follow Him and He knows them.

2. In verse 28, he says He gives them Eternal Life. And unless I see it different than the rest of you, He says plainly "They Shall NEVER Perish" nor is anyone taking them from Him. He would say this and then later tell us He didn't mean it would He?

3. Then in verse 29 He lets everybody know that His Father is greater than Him and you aren't going to take His sheep out of His hands either. Glory to God.

4. And last but not least, the Savior points out He and the Father are one and the same which is backed up by many other scriptures in the Bible speaking of the Godhead. How are you going to overpower He that is Power and take yourself out of His hands.

Plain and clear, no beating around the bush understanding. So then if you see another verse that in your mind seems contrary to what the Lord says plainly, then the meaning is being missed by you. There are no contradictions in the scriptures. At least not in the King James.

But we can't stop here. This verse still has to be backed up by another according to Isaiah chapter 28. And there are many that reinforce these and defiantly not taking them out of context. Check this out. I just showed you where Jesus said a very plain statement about salvation. Then there are those that would say that Jesus really didn't mean this and that some previously saved sheep will jump out of the Lords hand.

Well, that can't be. Why? Well look at the following scripture verses from Matthew that speak of the Great White Throne judgment. Some say that this is where even the once saved who lost their salvation will be judged. That's impossible however.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Notice the Savior said "I never knew you" in verse 23. If these folks had been saved at one time, the Lord couldn't say I never knew you. That would be lying and we know the Savior can't lie because in John 10:27 he says I know them.

Never looked at it that way before now did you?

Choosing A Pastor

The word "Bishop" is used which in the Greek (episkopos) means overseer, elder, or under-shepherd and it translates into the modern English as pastor. 1st Timothy 3:1 This is a true saying, If a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.

Some congregations have placed a deacon in as a proxy pastor but a deacon is not an overseer in this sense, but one who handles the less weightier matters to free the hands of the pastor & preachers. Acts 6:2 Then the twelve called the multitude of the disciples unto them, and said, It is not reason that we should leave the word of God, and serve tables. 6:3 Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business. 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.

God does hold pastors to a ridged standard and I would think that the Lord actually expects us all to strive to live up to these standards. Now as for those qualifications you spoke of, allow me to break them down for you:

1. 1st Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality, apt to teach;
- Blameless means that he should not have any controversy or bad, (provable) reports about him.
- That he is the husband of only one living wife unless he meets the qualifications of Matthew 19:9 And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. or 1st Corinthians 7:10 And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband: 7:11 But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife. 7:12 But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away. 7:13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. 7:15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. The word fornication applies to both married and unmarried in this case, he is the one who should be the innocent one in that case and not under bondage means to be released from the bonds of matrimony. If he is remarried outside of these qualifications then he is scripturally disqualified.
- That he is vigilant, meaning a shepherd who watches out and protects.1st Peter 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: 5:9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
- That he is sober. This means that he is to be serious when he needs to be. Ephesians 5:4 Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.
- Of good behavior is self exclamatory. 2nd Thessalonians 3:6: Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. 3:7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
- Given to hospitality meaning you should feel welcomed without any reservations at his home. 1st Peter 4:9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging.
- Apt to teach would mean that he would be willing to explain the doctrines of the scriptures without hesitation according to the knowledge God has given him. 2nd Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2. 1st Timothy 3:3 Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous;
- Not given to wine, means a man who avoids strong drink. Proverbs 20:1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
- No striker would mean someone who wouldn't be likely to hit another out of anger. Titus 3:2 To speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
- Not greedy of filthy lucre would be one who isn't out to make an easy or fast buck. Not given to deceptions and/or ploys to cheat someone. 1st Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
- But patient means that he is willing to wait for the right time at all occasions. Psalms 37:7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
- Not a brawler would mean someone who isn't fist fighting constantly. Titus 3:2
- Not covetous is a man who isn't overly desirous of things that belong to others. Exodus 20:17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.

3. 1st Timothy 3:4 One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; 3:5 (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
- Ruleth well and having his children in subjection would mean that he is the unquestioned head of his own household. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

4. 1st Timothy 3:6 Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.
- Being a novice is one who lacks the biblical and practical training of an older or more experienced pastor or elder. The finest training a pastor can receive is to have been under a good, Bible believing pastor of his own. This does not mean that you have to be looking for someone who has pastored before though because there are no doubt many young men who have been tempered by Gods Word and sound preaching out there who are ready for their first pastorate. You folks be led by the Holy Spirit on such a matter. 1st Corinthians 4:17 For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

5. 1st Timothy 3:7 Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.
- This defiantly means you should check those references. Go out and ask others about your candidate. Acts 22:12 And one Ananias, a devout man according to the law, having a good report of all the Jews which dwelt there, 22:13 Came unto me, and stood, and said unto me, Brother Saul, receive thy sight. And the same hour I looked up upon him.

Is The Enemy All Powerful?

Satan is not all powerful, nor able to be everywhere all at once. If he were he would be as God is and there is only ONE GOD! And Satan, if he were all powerful would make himself more visible to us! Since he isn't all powerful and omnipotent, and defiantly not omnipresent, he has his own army! An army of messengers or demons if you will. This rascal oversees his army and they are of one mind or have one goal, to foul Gods plans! Satan and his demons are able to plant ideas, cause situations, and generally be troublemakers to hinder the cause of Christ.

Satan must have been busy when Paul was under demonic attack because he sent a messenger instead of himself: 2nd Corinthians 12:7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.

Satan must not be any stronger then the other angels because of: Revelation 20:1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 20:2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 20:3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season

Satan defiantly has to ask permission to touch one of Gods people: Job 1:9 Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? 1:10 Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 1:11 But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. 1:12 And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

Satan is a creature we should learn all we can about from the Word of God: 2nd Corinthians 2:11 Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

Trusting wholly in the Living God and seeking His Will can run that odd bird off! James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

To make short of this answer, the devil is not all powerful, not everywhere at any time, and defiantly controllable! By the way, God is a fair God and since Satan is our accuser it is only fair that Satan be allowed in the presence of the Lord! How can he get permission else wise? He can't pray to God because the only ones whom God pays attention to in prayers are His children. Those washed in the Blood of the Lamb!

Is it Possible For A Christian To Lose Their Salvation?

There's a lot of folks out there who are having trouble separating the Spiritual from the natural. What exactly do you believe is saved when we are Saved?

Is it this natural body? No this body is sin and God will not have any part of that! Romans 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. 7:15 For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I. 7:16 If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good. 7:17 Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.

This flesh has to be crucified daily so that the Holy Spirit can work in us. Colossians 3:5 Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: 3:6 For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: & 1st Corinthians 15:31 I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. In other words we are to keep the flesh from sinning by spiritually killing it off daily. Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Is it this mind of mine? No, it's tied to a carnal body and therefore subject to being carnal! Romans 7:18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. 7:19 For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. 7:20 Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. & Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. 8:8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. & Romans12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Then what is it that is Saved? The only thing left that can be saved is your soul! James 1:21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. & James 5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins. & Acts 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. 2:41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. & 1st Peter 1:9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Jesus had tried to get Nicodemus to understand this and like many today, he just couldn't get past his carnal mind! John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 3:4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. :3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

We are reborn in spirit, something this carnal mind and body cannot corrupt because once born again we are sealed unto the day of redemption. Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

I have many times wondered why Ephesians 4:30 has been ignored by so many! If the Holy Spirit come into us to dwell are we mighty enough to remove the seal that He's placed on us? Another question I have for you is answered plainly here. Jesus said: John 10:26 But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you. 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 10:29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. 10:30 I and my Father are one. Is anyone, (including ourselves) able to pluck us from His hands???

Now, I would guess that some of you would ask, "How on earth could we be saved and still sin"? Well, if you are child of God, you won't get away with unrepented sin for long! Hebrews 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 12:9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? So I ask you, if it were possible that we loose our salvation, would that make us stronger then God? I mean, Jesus said: and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand! Didn't he?

Losing That Fat Gut

What a title for an article, huh? Well, that is the subject. This worked for me but I'm not going to promise you'll get the results I did. Hey, I wasn't even looking to lose weight when all of a sudden it became the end result of dealing with a memory problem.

I'm fifty one now and the memory wasn't working like I wanted it to. I did a little research and found out that if I take Gingko Biloba regularly it would help my memory. My wife got wind of what I was wanting to do and asked if I would take some multi vitamins along with the Gingko. Never turned my wife down before and wasn't going to start now. She purchased the multi vitamins and I started taking both once a day.

Within three weeks I started noticing my belt becoming more loose around the waist. Not a great amount, just a little. Shoot, I thought the old belt was just starting to stretch a bit so I went and purchased a new size forty belt like I'd been wearing for the past few years. Didn't even try it on until I got home and the darndest thing happend, it was too large. Being curious, I pulled out an old pair of size thirty eight jeans I had packed away and surprise, surprise, they fit. Holy Smokes. Didn't want to waste the belt I just purchased so I drilled a new hole in it and put it to use.

Mind you, the only thing I started doing different was taking the Biloba and the vitamins. So, I experimented a bit. I had heard that drinking cola regularly makes you retain weight. So I cut down on my cola intake. Wouldn't ya know it, in two more weeks I had to add another notch in my belt.

Like I said, it may not work for you but there is no harm trying. If I keep this up I'll be a size thirty six in another week or so. I haven't wore a size thirty six since I was in the navy thirty years ago. Oh, almost forgot! The memory is better now also. True story guys.

Ezine Article Directories

My name is TJ and it is my intention to start a new site called TJ's Article Directory Reviews. I know this doesn't seem like your typical, run of the mill type article because it isn't. As a matter of fact, my intent is to be totally straightforward with my reviews.

Contained on this site will be reviews of various Ezine Article Directories rated from one to five stars. Each site is studied and then graded for five different catagories:

* Content
* Site Navagation
* Family Friendliness
* Fairness to Authors
* Site Appearance

It just seemed to me that there are too many article sites out there that couldn't care one bit about the viewers of the articles or the authors that submit their blood, sweat, and tears to write these articles. This site will be in place to point out the ones who give a care and those that don't.

The URL will be at http://draftingservice.us/rate/

Please stop by and post some of your thoughts once the site is opened. There will be a place for comments.

Using Public Storage Facilities

Every one of us have excess or extra stuff that needs to be stored. Many have a garage, attic, or basement that you can pile things in but these get cluttered and over flowing too. The logical solution would be to weed through these things and discard those that we really don't need. But what happens when we have weeded through these things and there is still a bunch left? If they are in the way, there is an alternative. Find a public storage facility or mini storage and warehouse them there.

Then there are some who are moving from one place to the other. Again, the best bet is to store these items at a storage facility. Here are a few useful tips if you decide to do this.

Security

1. Always look for a facility that has an onsite manager to watch after the place. This is a big deterrent to thieves.

2. Make sure the place is fenced in with a gate and well lit. Check with them on gate hours. The best is one whose gates are open twelve or more hours a day. Even better if they have a gate with a pass code.

3. When choosing a lock for your unit, there are several types. But the one type that deters a thief is the round barrel lock. These are hard to cut because they are so hard and there are few places for a bolt cutter to reach.

4. Place all your really valuable stuff to the rear of the unit. ie., stereos, tv's, appliances, etc. Thieves don't want to stick around too long after they've broken in and digging deep into a unit is the last thing they want to do.

Critters and Moisture

1. Many storage units are built near open fields or patches of trees. It's near impossible to keep rats, mice, and squirrels away. Some opt to place rat poison or repellants in the unit.

2. Almost all public storage units are built on concrete slabs. To avoid damage from moisture, place your stuff on pallets. Some storage businesses supply these.

3. Make sure your things are insured. Many storage units only insure their buildings, not the contents and the responsibility to insure your things falls on you. Many insurance companies have rider policies that will cover this.

Vacation?

Many of you know that I have been teaching 4th and 5th graders since January of this year. They have been SUCH a delight and blessing (albeit a challenge, too, at times, LOL)! I’m teaching in a small Christian school. My kids have been looking forward to vacation, and now it has arrived!

Back to the kids in a bit. But now for a short English lesson just before my main point.
Vacation comes from the Latin meaning freedom or exemption. It is a somewhat similar root to the word vacant which means to be empty, to be free.

Now to my points, and there are three:

1. God never takes a vacation from us.
He chooses never to be free from us or to leave us. “I will never leave thee nor forsake thee.”, “Lo I am with you always even to the end of the world”, “Fear thou not, for I am with thee, be not dismayed for I am thy God. I will strengthen thee, I will help thee I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness” are just a tiny trickle of the promises of God’s constant abiding presence with us! After all, isn’t one of the names of Jesus Emmanuel GOD WITH US?
To show how very much with us He is, His only Son came to die for us (yes, you included) at the time we most needed Him, when we were sinners and apart from Him! He is our Good Shepherd, always caring for us and meeting our needs. God never sleeps. God does NOT take a vacation nor do we find ourselves vacant (empty) of His presence and His love (Read Romans 8! I could quote it for you, but this is your homework: I want you to read it for yourselves, especially the last part.)
NOTHING separates us from His love! NOTHING!

2. We should never take a vacation from God.
When we think of all He has done for us and of His unconditional and unending love for us, how can we? Yet, too often we do, and it’s not just in the summertime. In the summer we are often busy with recreational plans, vacations, and fun, and our church attendance is too often slack. Yep, there are too many vacant seats in churches in the summer! I encourage you to do what I encouraged my children to do this summer: keep on learning! What better time than a vacation to spend more time with God in learning from His Word and leaning on Him in prayer? More time with family is a good reason for vacation, and who is more important to spend time with than our Heavenly Father? Nothing is more refreshing and relaxing! And, you know, churches get really blessed when we show up to visit when we’re not at home. Then, too, there are many people everywhere who do not know the Lord. If you do know Him, God may be placing you in a divine appointment to share a witness for Him.

3. If He is our Lord, and He is, whether we admit that or not, we must spend time praising Him and living in His love.
Several weeks ago, I was putting up a bulletin board. I had taken pictures of my children. I had the words Jesus loves us. The us was on the middle of a cross. I had the kids’ pictures. They had just studied about Peter’s confession of Christ where he said in Matthew 16 “You are the Christ, the Son of the Living God.” Their worksheet had little scrolls. One scroll asked, “Who did men say that Jesus was?” The second said, “Who did Peter say Jesus is?” The third asked. “Now, who do you say Jesus is?” Every one of my kids had some wonderful answers to that last question! I placed their answers beside their pictures. I was going to put the words “Jesus is Lord” at the bottom of the bulletin board, but one of my boys came to me and said, “Mrs. Johnson, that needs to say, “Jesus is OUR Lord.” WOW! Of course, I made that correction before putting those words on the board. Is Jesus YOUR Lord? He gave His very best, His own life, for your sins. This summer don’t free or vacate yourself from Him! Vacate other things so that you can spend even more time with Him. After all, He IS Emmanuel, God with us!”

The Way of Suffering

This is being written on what is called "Good Friday". I often have asked what really was good about that horrible day when our Lord Jesus Christ was crucified. Yet, He gives the answers!

On the Sunday before, the crowds had led Him in a triumphant celebration through the streets of Jerusalem shouting "Hosanna! Blessed is He Who comes in the name of the Lord!" What a difference a few days can make!

Jesus Christ had celetrated the Last Supper (Passover) with His disciples. He had shocked them by taking his garment and washing His disciples' feet to teach them that they also should be serving others! He had been tried in a series of illegal trials. He had come into Garden of Gethsemane and prayed with all His being that if it were His Father's will, He would not have to go to the Cross, yet being willing to yield to His Father's will. In the meantime, Peter, James, and John, whom Jesus had asked to watch and pray with Him, were sleeping. As that Friday of His Crucifixion opened, He was led, bearing His Cross, down a very narrow street and out to a hill that looked like a skull, called Golgotha, there to meet his death. Beaten, bleeding, and so tortured that He did not even look human, His hands and feet were nailed to the Cross, and, eventually, a spear pushed into his side to make sure He was dead as the Savior gave His life for the forgiveness of the sins of all who would and will trust in Him. So what was good about all that? What made it a Good Friday?

I think the answers come partly from His willingness and love for us that led Him to die for us. But I also think that His final sayings from the Cross also help here. The saying come from all the gospels, and we don't know the order of these sayings, but I am placing them and the encouragement they give in this order.

"My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me?" What was good about that? It was good that although the Father looked away as His Son took upon Himself our sins, that "forsaking" would not be forever. Jesus would arise from the dead and return to His Father in Heaven. And, Glory to God, we, too, shall rise as the Lord returns or as we close our eyes in death and walk forgiven into the Kingdom of Heaven, because of what Jesus did for us that day. He who had never sinned took our sins to the Cross and provided our redemption.

"I thirst." What was good about that? I think that Jesus longed not only for quenching of His physical thirst, but He thirsted that ALL will come to know Him as Lord and Savior because of what He did there at Calvary. "God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." Not that everyone will, because not all will repent and truly turn to Him (remember Judas?) Too many will reject Him. But, like Peter, no matter how we deny Him, if we truly come to Him humbly seeking forgiveness, we get it!

"Father, Forgive them, for they know not what they do." Praying for His accusers, His Crucifiers? Yes! He was asking the Father to forgive them. Wow! And He ever lives at the Right Hand of God to ever pray for us! That is Good News, and that is awesome!

To the thief on the cross beside Him who begged to be remembered when Jesus came into His kingdom, Jesus said, "Today thou shalt be with me in Paradise." The moment a truly repentant sinner comes to Jesus asking for forgiveness and salvation, he/she receives it. And at the very moment of the death of a Christian, he/she is right then in the presence of God and ushered into His kingdom!

To his mother he said, "Woman, behold thy Son", and to his beloved apostle John "Behold thy Mother." I think it is SO awesome that Jesus loved His mother so much and saw her grief, which much have been almost unbearable, that He wanted someone to care for her and help her through the crisis of the death of her Son. And who better to do that than the disciple who was probably closer to Him than any other, John. John was immensely suffering there at the Cross, too? Jesus knew they would need each other!

"It is finished." It was at this point that Jesus knew He had totally fulfilled everything His Father had sent Him to do. He was giving His life for you and me, and He knew that His work on earth was done.

And finally, "Father, into thy Hands I commit my spirit." And there the Savior gave His life and everything He was into the hands of God, His Father. He had said that He came not to reject the law, but to fulfil it. And He did! Totally!

Well, I hope you see that it was a truly terrible Friday, but also a very good one as the Lord gave His life on a cruel Cross for YOU.

About Civil Litigation

When people are upset at the actions or inactions of another and a lawsuit occurs, whether it is for a business or an individual, this falls into the arena of civil litigation. In order to reduce or alleviate the potential cost to the defendant, you will need to have litigation attorneys on your side.

Civil laws do not carry the same penalties as criminal law cases, but you still do not want to take the risk of paying more than you need to. This is especially true when you consider the potential cost of court related expenses. Oftentimes, civil litigation cases can be settled out of court - and at a reduced settlement amount. This is preferable.

Civil lawsuits may be involved when you are dealing with:

* Contract disputes

* Marriage

* Accidents

* Negligence

* Probate

* Property disputes

* Commercial law

If you are facing civil litigation, then you need to have the legal services of a qualified litigation lawyer to act in your defense. Without it, you may end up with costs that exceed what it may be necessary to pay - if you had a civil attorney acting in your defense. Several stages are involved in civil litigation cases, which include:

* Investigation

* Pleadings

* Discovery

* Pre-trial

* Trial

* Settlement, and Appeal.

Because a civil suit can be dropped at any point and time, you want to be sure to have a highly experienced civil lawyer on your side. After all, you can be sure that those parties on the other side will have the best.

Tips For Posting on a Christian Message Board

Actually, these suggestion would help on any Message Board. Give them a try.

1. It is OK if your post is a one liner like "I'll be praying" or "You made a good point". What is a poor practice in posting is making one liner statements like "That's just plumb dumb" or "That's the stupidist thing I've ever heard". All you will get out of statements like that is a bad response and most likely a warning from a Moderator.

2. Always consider what you've written before you press the post button. You may never know what you may have omitted from a sentence that may make what you are saying totally opposite to what you really wanted to say.

3. If you're angry with the person you are posting to, is right now the time to post or would after a bit of reflection be better. If the reason you are angry is personality conflict, maybe posting back to them isn't the best course of action. Someone may be rough and not even realize it. Maybe asking a Moderator or Admin to talk to them for you or maybe some other person not involved being a mediator will be the way to make peace. Each situation is different and you what may work in one situation may not in another.

4. Try not to wonder far off the beaten path when participating in conversations. Keep the conversation in the area related to the Original Post (OP). If you go down too many rabbit trails with the conversation, you are doing a dis-service to the one who started the threads original intent. If you want to go down another pathway, start a new thread addressing that rabbit trail.

5. Don't assume anything if there seems a problem with another poster. Ask the person who you might make an assumption over what the meant by what they said in a PRIVATE MESSAGE before you continue on... If the poster you have a problem with is just being plain out mean or unChristian like, Report the post...

These are just a few suggestions to have a peaceful visit to these places.

What to look for on a Christian Message Board

At first thought you may be thinking, duh, Christian discussions. And most likely you are probably right. But it goes deeper than that. Much deeper. Below is a list of the types of discussions you will find.

Eternal Security (Once Saved, Always Saved) versus Conditional Salvation. This is the number one hot potato subject today. In essence, there are those that believe that once you're born again you can be un-born again and on the flip side there are those that believe salvation is something even Ajax can't wash off.

English Bible Versions. This is another hot potato. There are some that believe the newer English versions of the Bible (those after the King James Version) are straight from the devil himself and on the flip side, there are those that solely believe the language needs to be updated and other manuscripts used.

Then there is the subject that draws more fire than a chimney on a windy day. The subject of female preachers. The Apostle Paul said some things in his epistles that lead us to believe the woman can't be in this role while there are some that believe he was merely speaking of the women of his day.

One of my favorites is the discussions about the last days or the end times called eschatology. There are so many different schools of thought just in this area it can make your brain hurt. It all has to do with the order of events when the Lord returns.

The discussions on alcohol and drinking wine are quite active along with tattoos and the type of clothing we should wear. All you need do is search the web and not only will you find Christian Message boards but also in such a wide variety you'll not even come close to covering every category in a month of Sunday's.

A Civil Litigation Attorney

This is the lawyer that represents plaintiffs and defendants in civil law cases. In other words when some is sued or being sued over an incident or ideal where one party or the other is using legal means to compel another to perform an action or pay an amount for some sort of damages or wrong they feel has been committed.

The duties of a civil litigation attorney include:

Conducting Discovery which is the search for information pertaining to the case such as evidence and seeking out witnesses who can testify for their client. This is also when opposing attorneys exchange information about the case. The devices or methods used in discovery are interrogatories, requests for production of documents, personal depositions, requests for admissions, and requests for inspection of articles.

Pre Trial, which is the wrapping up of discovery and formulating the strategy needed to win the case such as physical evidence. This is also the time when motions to dismiss are composed to be presented to the court.

Conduct settlement offers if requested by their client. Very few civil cases go to trial because a settlement can usually be agreed upon before trial begins.

Trial is where this attorney really should shine. Here, they select a jury, give opening and closing statements, examine and cross examine witnesses and build a convincing story for the judge or jury.

If the civil case doesn't go favorably, there is something called an appeal that can be made by the lawyer on the clients behalf. If successful in appeal, a unfavorable decision can be overturned.

Choosing a Christian Message Board or Chat

There are so many types of message boards out there it’s overwhelming to choose the right one. So how do you choose? Personally I tend to go where I have the greatest opportunity to witness Christ when I use the internet as a mission field. Our duty is to spread the Gospel. Right? A whopper of a message board called Bible Forums is one of my favorites because it draws the largest and most diverse group of people together. That board is huge not to mention it has a good moderation team that sorts out the mess if needed. I am a mediator on that board myself.

Some years back I was a moderator of the old GCN Chat and it was similar in size to the afore mentioned Christian message board. Because of it’s size and diversity I got to witness many claim the Lord Jesus as their Savior. When GCN shut down, several came over to my ministry site and we had a small group to chat with and lift one another up. When it comes down to personal, one on one, not getting lost in the crowd, this was wonderful.

If you are a young Christian and growing in your faith, you may choose to go to a board that was established for your particular denomination. Lord knows there are many Baptist, Methodist, Presbyterian, etc., boards and chats out there to choose from. All you have to do is open a search engine and start discussing.

Brother Tim Davis is is a Baptist Pastor and Police Chaplain who runs a Christian Message Board called PCIM at http://www.parsonscorner.org/pcimunity/ and a Christian Chat called PCIM Chat at http://www.parsonscorner.org/pcimunity/chat/. Please stop by and visit…

Beginners Guide to the Promotion of Your Website

You have built your handy dandy, do it all, all things to all people web site and you are wanting others to know about it. Right? Here is a step by step guide to getting your website noticed on the web.

Step 1
Build keyword rich meta tags into your pages. These are a must for search engine placement. You can go to sites that offer free tools to build these for you like offered at Scrub the Web which will lead you through the entire process.

Step 2
Submit your site to the search engines. You can either do this manually by going to each individual search engine and add your URL or use a software program or service.

Step 3
Place a blog or article page on your site. Make sure you link to it on your site on every page. Here you can post your thoughts and useful information about your site. This is a major tool that the search engines will love because of the content. And keep the content fresh.

Step 4
Write articles directly related to the subject of your site and submit them to article directories. Then post these articles to your blog or article page. This is a must! When the article directories publish your articles, place the URL to your article on theses directory sites on your article on your site. This creates effective back links. You need to write a fresh and informative article at least once a week.

There are services that will save you valuable time and submit your articles for you like Article Trader.

Step 5
Search the web for sites that are similar to yours and ask them in an email if they are willing to exchange links. Those links will increase your sites popularity with the search engines and hopefully increase your site ranking.

Tennessee Implied Consent Law

If you were stopped by a law enforcement officer and asked to take a “Standardized Field Sobriety Test” and you failed the test, most likely you will be asked to take either a blood alcohol test, a breathalyzer test or both. The officer will most likely present you with a paper to sign saying that you agree to take these tests. This is called Implied Consent. The Tennessee Implied Consent law was put in place to have those suspected of driving under the influence (DUI) to submit to either a breathalyzer (breath text) and or a blood test to determine if they are indeed driving under the influence of an intoxicant.

If you refuse such a test or tests, Tennessee law states that you will be charged with violation of the Tennessee Implied Consent Law and if found guilty will administratively loose your license for one year. However, neither test can be legally administered unless the officer has a “reasonable suspicion” that the one in question was actually driving under the influence of an intoxicant. Tennessee Code Annotated (TCA) 55-10-406.

If the court rules that you have violated implied consent, the judge will revoke your drivers license for one year and can even revoke it for up to five years depending on the circumstances. Even worse, if you are found guilty of the implied consent law and your license is revoked or suspended because of a previous DUI or similar charge, the fines and time you would have to serve would be even more serious.

Article Writing Services Are Available

There are probably several reasons why you would want to hire an article author to ghostwrite for you. One of the main reasons is that you just can't seem to get that one article that draws traffic to your site and need a fresh perspective. That can happen even to the best web writer. That’s when a different outlook on the subject is worth all the tea in China.

Maybe you are a beginner at writing and want someone to prime your writing talents. No shame in that. We all had to start somewhere and seeing others write articles about our subject or interest may be just what’s needed to kick start the creative juices.

It could be that English isn't your native language and you're wanting your article to be written or re-written by an English speaking author.

Then again you could already be an accomplished author but you just don't have the time needed to keep a content stream flowing. Time is the one thing that is a precious commodity in today’s culture.

Whatever the reason, there are many good authors out there that would be more than happy to ghostwrite for you. Ghost writing, which is the term used for someone who writes for another person, isn’t a new concept. It’s a time honored trade.

There are many challenges facing other webmasters in getting the exposure and traffic needed to compete on the internet. Lord knows, it's a task to get high rankings with the search engines. The key to this is to have fresh quality content on your site and in the ezine directories. If you can find a good resource for that fresh content, why not use it?

Tim Davis is an experienced ghostwriter who’s website is at http://101info.org/articles/. He also runs an ezine article site called E-Articles R US at http://receivedtext.org/articles/.

Draw Your Own House

Drawing an architectural set of plans isn't a simple matter when you consider all the elements that make up a set of house plans. What you need to do is first research all the needs of the family, understand the local codes, know what style of house you're wanting, know what sort of foundation is needed, etc...

There are several automated drawing programs on the market that say they will take your data and turn it into a plan. But to be quite honest, the technology hasn't quite been perfected yet to read your mind and put all the elements into place. There has to be an amount of human planning and an algorithm just can't handle that right now.

So what are your options?

1. Hire a Drafter or Designer. This would be the least expensive method short of drawing them yourself. Main reason is they normally give you a flat square foot price.

2. Hire an Architect. If you have the money, spend it. Most of us don't. No, I'm not down on architects. It just seems that most want to tell you what you want instead of being concerned about what you are wanting. If you find an architect who is really wanting to give you your dream instead of his or hers, you've got a winner.

3. Buy a stock plan and have them alter it to suit your needs. Sure, this will work but you can nickel and dime yourself to death in revision costs. Not to mention note and dimension errors that can be overlooked in the changes.

4. Take an online drafting & design course and learn to do it yourself. Hey, there are several architectural drafting and design courses on the net that are affordable. Some that would actually only take up a few weeks of your time and give you the solid education you need to draw your house.

Converting A Barn Into A Home

In late 2000, I bought a piece of property that was used as a farm for the past three generations. And even though just under six acres, was one of the prettiest pieces of land you ever laid eyes on. One half of the property is wooded and the remainder is rolling hills. At the westernmost section of the land runs a bubbling brook fed by a gushing spring. The water in that spring is crystal clear, fresh, and cool, all year round.

My wife and I borrowed my families RV and moved onto the property that same year with all intentions of building an English Style Tudor home on the front side of the property.

I'm an architectural designer by trade and had spent months laying out my wife's dream home. (OK, I admit it was mine too!) It was going to be built using trees off the land that I spent six weeks cutting down and shaping into 8" x 8" beams with my chain saw.

Then we hit a snag. The place where we were to build our dream home sat too close to the power lines that ran across the front of the property. Sure, I could get the utility board to move them, but not at their expense. I'd have to pay for the entire shooting match and that just wasn't in the budget.

By the time we got the news about the power lines, we had already spent nine weeks in that old RV and to be honest, it was getting sort of cramped seeing that three of our five children were still living at home. I don't care how big the RV is, if there is a 5 year old, two young teens, and two adults packed in it, life gets interesting. My wife's nerves were getting a bit frazzled and to be honest, so were mine.

On our farm, the only other suitable place to build sat the most beautiful old barn you ever laid eyes on. 64' wide by 30' deep. This barn had good solid construction with 6" x 6" columns, true 2" x 6" girts and rafters, 1" x 10" & 12" planking on the walls and lofts floors. All rough sawn and true size. This building was nearly a century old and twice as solid as modern structures today.

When I got the news about the house, I tried to break it to my wife as easy as possible so I took her out for a moon light stroll. You know, one of those romantic type walks that women just seem to get all gushy about. On our stroll we walked up to the barn where I had stored all those beams I had made to keep them in the dry until needed.

Sweety, I said. "We can't build the house right now. If I have to clear land to build it, there will be another three to four month wait before I can even start construction." Then, off the cuff I said; "Maybe I could build us an apartment in the barn until I can start on the house." Her eyes lit up and she asked me; "How long would it take to build?" I thought for a second and decided it would take probably a month to complete.

Her excitement returned and seeing her face light up like that spurred me on to swinging a hammer. I selected the widest open part of the barn and started the construction. I'm glad I had the utility board hook power up to the barn as it really made life easier to use my power tools.

I visited our local saw mill and bought as much raw lumber as I could. First I constructed a new loft area using some of the beams I had cut out, then using those same beams, started cutting out stairs. Next I enclosed the face of the opening with native rock and mortar at about three feet tall and then a wood wall on top of that.

I built the floor to the Living Room and Den and then started framing the Kitchen which would protrude out of the back of the barn. Next, the loft I had previously built became mine and my wife's bedroom. From there I opened an area into the existing loft and started building the bathroom and two other bedrooms.

It has been close to eight years now and that barn apartment has become a full blown home complete with five Bedrooms, a Living Room, Den/Dining Room, Kitchen, Full Bathroom, Study, Sunroom/Laundry, Sewing Room, and a Garage. We haven't even used up a third of the barn yet and our square footage is already around 2064 sq. ft. of heated area. That square footage doesn't include the Garage, or Woodshop. The Garage is 13'-4" by 20' and the Wood Shop is the same size.

If you are planning to convert an outbuilding or barn into a home, you are in for a treat. Not only is there a rustic beauty but a whole bunch of possibilities for layout and use.

Tim Davis is a veteran Architectural Designer who also teaches architecture and drafting over the internet http://homedesign.8m.com

He is currently in the process of writing an Ebook entitled "How to Turn a Barn into a Home". The info page for updates on this ebook can be found at http://draftingservice.us/barnhomes

Tips For Writing an Article That Can Be Understood

The reason for writing articles is to communicate the writer's thoughts. Really, that's all it really is!
This style of writing conveys what is on the authors mind when they wrote the article. And people pick up on that to. If the article is written poorly, it's easy to pick up on. So make sure you have all your thoughts together before you write it.

The first step when writing is that the communicated ideas be presented distinctly and clear in the mind of the writer. You don't have any right to expect your thoughts to be understood unless you can spell out clearly what it is you are thinking.

Consider the works of the Bible for instance. This is the greatest work of writing ever and it doesn't beat around the bush when conveying an idea. Why? Because it's conveyed with conviction. And not just any conviction. It's written with a sincere and inspired conviction.

Ok, so you aren't writing an epistle or a prophesy, but you can take a lesson from it. The men who penned the scriptures first made sure they were inspired. What is your inspiration? Before writing your article you ought to first consider what to say, and then how to say it. The writer must first make sure that the ideas they want to express are clear in their own mind.

One thing that might help you to write a better article is to use the KISS rule. Keep It Simple Silly. Try using the simplest words to get the message across. Then using simple words, develop simple sentences. Ever heard the expression: "The more you complicate the plumbing, the easier it is to stop up the drain"?

Now if we could just get lawyers, politicians, and law makers to use this principle.

Article Tutorial

You are here to get exposure for your site. Right? Well, lets see if I can help you with that.

Step 1

Write an article about the subject of your site or product. Simple, right? Well, it can be simple but the trick to it is that you really don't want to seem like you are making a sales pitch. Surfers are looking for usefull content, not spam. So write your article so that your reader is learning something that you are knowledgeable about.

Step 2

Write a good biography that will compell the surfer to click on your link to learn more about your subject. Again, this doesn't need to be all hyped up either. To the contrary, a simple "Hey, this is my site, please scope it out to find out more" with a link will do. This is where the simpler, the better is the rule in my humble opinion.

Step 3

Submit it to every ezine directory you can find. There are some services that will send your article to hundreds of ezine sites for a small amount of cash like Article Trader.

Step 4

After your article has been submitted to all these sites, do a search for your particular site on Google and Yahoo by placing the article title in quotes like this: "my site article for all to see". Look at all the different sites carrying your article on the first page. These are called the Prime Results. You'll need to place the url to these results on your page on your site that has the same article. This makes for great backlinking.

Step 5

Write fresh articles often, repeating steps 1, 2, 3, & 4!!!

Article Ezines and Directories

I have been a webmaster since the mid 1990's and have always struggled with search engine placement. But now, with the advent of ezine sites and the search engines cravings for content, my life has become a bit simpler. Even a bit less hectic too.

Content that is relevant to certain subjects is the key. In a move to make the internet more informative, the search engine leader Google led the way to making the net more than an electronic billboard. They and others like them seem to be giving more credence to sites that are more informative and packed with relevant information. That's why blogs and articles linked directly to sites are starting to make it towards the top of the search engine queries.

Then the advent of Ezine Article sites. Not that they are really a new web app. No, they've been around for a while but have finally come to be useful to their fullest extent.

These sites do their magic by being a repository for content that the search engines gobble up. And better still, anyone who can write quality content can place their articles on them. What's sweeter is the fact that at the end of the article, you can tell somewhat about yourself and your website.

Submit your articles to as many of these as you can and make sure that you link back to them on your site. Many of these offer decent looking banners and graphics that proudly state as published on such and such a site.

And the final part that is handier than a hay rake on cutting day, placing links back to the article site on the page you have your article on your own web site. This makes a neat back link that is highly regarded by the search engines.

Getting Noticed in a Crowded Internet

Talk about a challenge. Facts are there are a gazillion websites on the net and counting. You may think the odds are stacked against you to even get listed on search engines like Google and Yahoo. And if you do get listed, you get buried in the maze of hundreds of other sites similar to yours. Don't get discouraged. These are the odds everybody face and just because they are daunting obstacles doesn't mean you can't make it.

I'm making the assumption you've already built a site that plainly tells everybody your intentions or conveys your thoughts on what you are wanting everybody to learn. And maybe you've submitted your URL to that site using one method or the other. Wonderful, that is a good start but most people leave it there thinking they are about to get a flood of traffic only to find that after a few weeks, no hits.

Here is why.

Because of the volume of sites similar to yours is probably huge, your site is actually like a drop of water being dropped into a lake full of water. Once the drop hit's the lake (search engines), it's indistinguishable from the rest of the lake. You have to make your site stand out. The way to do this is to author content in the form of articles and blog entries.

Articles, in all reality are simple to compose if they are about a subject you're interested in. Especially easy if the subject is something you have a passion over. Write them and submit them everywhere you possibly can. But don't stop there. Make sure you post those same articles on your own site in your blog.

I did mention a blog didn't I? I even have placed links on my blog or article pages back to where my article is posted on ezine sites. Backlinks are the greatest thing since peanut butter. It never hurts to have some links. What's even more wonderful is when your article starts migrating to other folks pages. Then you have some wonderful and much needed popularity links.

What is a CAD Program

The acronym CAD stands for Computer Aided Drafting or CADD which is Computer Aided Drafting and Design.

Simply put, a CAD program is a drafting board contained in a computer program. But it's even more than that! The accuracy obtained in these programs can be measured to 1/1000 of an inch, even though this can only be measured by the line thickness of the paper drawing that is eventually output by the program.

Current CAD software packages vary from two dimensional, vector-based drafting programs to three dimensional solid and surface model systems. Modern CAD packages can show views rotated in all three dimensions, allowing you to view desired angle even from the inside of the object.

CAD is used in the following industries: Architectural (houses and buildings), Mechanical (machine and shop), Industrial (plant layout and parts manufacturing), Survey & Topographical (plats, site plans, and topography), and many other fields where accurate drawing are required.

Those that work specifically in this field are called CAD drafters.

There are quite a few tutorials and courses available over the internet where you can learn to use CAD for yourself. Go to http://cad101.8m.com for more details.
